2009 Adult Summer Intensive
Dates for the 2009 Adult Summer Intensive have been set: August 24-28. Classes will meet daily, 10 am until 4:15 pm, in Ballet, Technique, Pointe, Turns & Jumps, Variations, Flamenco, Jazz. The week will end with an informal performance and refreshments. Special hotel rate for participants.

NYCB Dancers return as guest teachers
Current New York City Ballet principals Megan Fairchild and Andrew Veyette will return as guest teachers for Westside Ballet's Summer Intensive.
Summer Ballet Intensive 2009
- Training for the dedicated ballet student, age 12 to 18
- Emphasis on Classical Ballet, including Pointe, Pas de Deux, and Variations (at appropriate grade levels)
- Two Sessions: each 4 weeks, Monday through Friday
- Session 1, June 29 - July 24
- Session 2, July 27 - August 21
- Open to beginners, elementary, intermediate and advanced students
- Students will demonstrate the dances they have learned at a studio performance on the last day of each session.
- Participation in rehearsal classes is limited to students enrolled in the full 4-week program.
- Tuition $950 per session
Children's Level 2009
- To develop the natural talent for dance of girls and boys age 8 to 11
- For children who have completed Ballet 1 or equivalent, and children who are already pursuing professional training
- Two Sessions: each 4 weeks, Monday through Friday
- Session 1, June 29 - July 24
- Session 2, July 27 - August 21
- Typical daily schedule includes one hour of ballet, one hour of jazz, one hour performance class (ballet or jazz), and one hour of specialty dance (folk, mime, choreography). The young dancer's day includes ballet history illustrated with ballet videos and twice-a-week craft sessions.
- Participation in rehearsal classes is limited to students enrolled in the full 4-week program.
- Students will present a studio dance performance on the last day of each session
- Leotard (Level II pink, Level III blue), pink tights and pink ballet shoes required for girls; hairs must be worn in a bun. Boys wear white t-shirts, black tights, white socks and black ballet shoes.
