Faculty - Ilona Marie Pociunas
Ilona Pociunas began dancing at age 5 with her mother Elizabeth Wasynczuk, who also teaches at Westside School of Ballet. 
Ilona started her training at Westside at age ten with Yvonne Mounsey, Rosemary Valaire, and Caprice Walker. She continued her training until her graduation at age seventeen from Marymount High School.
Ilona joined The Sacramento Ballet Company and performed for five years under the direction of Carinne Binda and Ron Cunningham. Ilona returned to Los Angeles where she continues dancing with small local dance companies. She is also working toward her Bachelor of Arts degree in Performing Arts at St. Mary's College in their LEAP program (Liberal Education for Arts Professionals). Currently Ilona teaches children and adult classes at Westside School of Ballet.
